Samsung DTBH 260F HDTV Reciever. January 8, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Reciever works well. My only complaint is when I change Antenna directions I have to reset the channels. The previous box I had once you set the various channels you could change the antenna direction and the channels from that direction would already be set.
Very good tuner January 6, 2009 The tuner was very easy to install and worked well with the older TV I had
Brings out the DTV Channels on Cable & Over-the-air broadcasts January 2, 2009 I purchased the Samsung-DTBH260F-HDTV-Terrestrial-Receiver at the end of November 2008. It was DOA when it arrived. I went to the Samsung service site and got an RMA, and UPS shipping label and shipped it to NJ for repair. Two weeks later it came back from repair and had a rattle, from a lose circuit board mounting screw, so I had to take it apart and the screw back in place. It appeared to have come lose from the power supply circuit board, which had just been replaced.
I originally had signal issues with the cable, so I had to replace my cable and that seemed to take care of the signal issue.
My local cable is Comcast, and it picked up all of the channels quite well, well over 500+. It took me a while to review which ones had programming on them and to delete the ones with no programming.
As one of the other reviewers mentioned, it doesn't pick up the details of the program information, but it will tell you what resolution is being provided 480, 720 or 1080. I might try what the other reviewer mentioned to see if this helps.
It will also pickup what ever is available over the air as well.
It did not pickup the main analog cable channel, but this is not an issue, as it does a pass through to your TV, if you have multiple inputs.
I am connecting via the component outputs from the Samsung receiver to my Hitachi HD TV.
When I bought my Hitachi HD ready TV, it didn't have the DTV tuner in it, as the standard had not completed yet. Using the Samsung-DTBH260F-HDTV-Terrestrial-Receiver appears to be a good solution, without having to purchase a new TV.
I have more to go on this, to see if I can eek out more of the capabilities.
So far, it seems to fill the bill.
Great performance - in the Phoenix Area January 1, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This HD receiver was easy to set up - and using the component cables delivers excellent over-the-air HD broadcasts. It is matched with a Samsung large-screen DLP HD set. I like the feature of having the Guide for ALL channels at once instead of just the channel I am on. Menu is easy to understand, navigate, and when I need to move the antenna, the bar display makes it easy to see when I have reached peak reception.
All in all, I would recommend this to anyone with an HD component input TV..
Great Product December 31, 2008 I got this receiver because it sends the signal to the TV in HD. I have an older HDTV that came without the receiver. Easy to set up, the HD picture and sound are great.
