The best!January 9, 2009 I got this player a couple of months ago and it blew my last one away. The picture is wonderful, sound ok but I use phones, and I dropped the thing pretty good and it's very sturdy. Last week I was visiting my son who is out of work, his wife ill, and she had the worst little player to keep her entertained so I gave her mine. She is thrilled! Me, I'm buying another.
Great portable DVD playerJanuary 9, 2009 I ordered this for my daughter and she has been using it about a month. So far it works great. I wanted to hook her Game Cube up to it but the cable ends were male for the DVD and the game console. I bought a three connector adapter at Radio Shack for $4 and it works like a charm. I am impressed as to the quality on the small screen as compared to a TV. I suppose because you sit closer to it the screen seems bigger. I have never used another brand but I am quite satisfied with the Sony.
DisappointedJanuary 8, 2009 I absolutely loved this player. It plays burned DVDs of all kinds and was easy to use. Easy for in the car or in the home. It's even a pretty color. I was loving it, until the screen broke after only 3 1/2 months. I used it to watch tv in my parked car on my lunch hour, 2 maybe 3 days a week. So it wasn't like it was used constantly. I bought it in late August, in Mid December, the screen went black. It came back on a few times, but didn't stay on for more than 20 minutes at a time. And Yes, it was fully charged. The sound stays on and the remote works, but the monitor part just went dead, no button functions, nothing. I feel it should have lasted longer than that and I am really disappointed because I really liked it. I babied it, got it a nice case with lots of cushion, kept it out of the sun, everything I could to take care of it. I hope I just got a lemon and they aren't all bad. But I am now on here shopping for another one and I won't risk buying this one again.
Great Deal! Works well (mostly)January 8, 2009 We got one of these portable players for long car trips and evenings at home when someone wants to watch a DVD on their own. The player is easy to use, the battery lasts long, and the workmanship appears good. My only complaint is that films (even letterbox editions) do not fill the entire screen. I searched the manual and cannot find anything helpful. I am about ready to contact SONY directly. This is annoying but not the end of the universe --- overall a great buy.
Nice portable DVDJanuary 8, 2009 This was a gift for my 12-year-old grandson, and he loves it! He can watch movies or play with his games that have DVDs as part of the game without having to wait to use the family TV.
