Garmin StreetPilot c580 October 14, 2008 This GPS unit, being the first GPS system that I own, works very well for my purpose. I normally like to find my way around on my own but this GPS is great for those once-in-a-while I'm lost moments. It's slightly bulky but very light, and the screen color/graphic is fairly decent. Accurate directions, and easy to use system perfect for my occasional use. I wish though, there could've been some sort of Google map intergration because sometimes the GPS system would give me a set of directions, but I tend to like the Google map directions better. There is a way to load the google map onto the system but i think it would be better if it was already loaded with the google map software. Overall a great product for the price I paid. THis is a great GPS if you're just looking to have a navigation system to tell you where to go when you're lost without all of the fancy features of the pricier systems then this is perfect for you.
above average for the price October 12, 2008 After 3 long trips to unknown destinations, I can say that this model is pretty good deal for its price. it gives accurate directions, prompts when its time to turn or take an exit and does its job pretty well. Sometimes it does take forever to find a public place or a restaurant. Its not google...but it does it job accurately, for the bargain. Definitely a must have gadget for your car.
Had a wonderful time October 9, 2008 We went to Seattle, Vancouver, BC and then Yakima Valley. We enjoyed the Garmin. It was our first experiencer owning a GPS and it made driving around easier. My wife navigates and the Garmin allowed her to relax. The only down side was the free MNS service was never able to update or give useful information. It was worth what we paid for the service.
garmin c580 is accurate! October 8, 2008 This product is really accurate and fast in split seconds you have recalculation of new route. It tells you the next exit or street or road with enough time to change lane if you have to.
Nice GPS October 7, 2008 I found creating a playlist for music a hassle. You would have to use a music program to create it, but takes steps to create it and transfer to the Garmin. Why doesn't Garmin give free user-friendly music program specifically for their device? I like using spiral frog and it won't allow you to transfer to the Garmin device. Spiral frog limits devices that will transfer their music to brand devices (Garmin is not one of them). The MSN Direct Receiver worked once and after that it died. It would only show traffic info. ONLY and antenna stopped working for all other contents. I had to return it to Garmin Corp. and ship for $8 to receive a new one from them. So basically it was an additional cost for that receiver. Overall a nice device for my husband (he's not into gadgets, but I think this might be helpful for him somewhere/sometime). I have the Nuvi 760 that works w/ MSN fine.
