Excellent Printer December 2, 2008 This printer is excellent at printing photos. The clarity and color is exceptional. I could not tell the difference between photos from a processing center and the photos printed on this machine.
One of the best purchases I have made and by far the best printer of the 3 photo printers I have purchased.
Cool photo printer! November 29, 2008 This is a very nice Photo Printer. Nice scans, red eye out, etc. Easy to set up and use. I could'nt give it 5 stars because I really wish it would print on paper larger than 8X10, and it doesn't come with a USB Cable and it should. Other than that, its great.
sO EASY TO USE November 16, 2008 THE 8180 DOES EVERYTHING CLAIMED, IS EASY TO USE FOR A SENIOR CITIZEN LIKE ME WHO HAS ONLY BEEN INTO COMPUTERS AND ACCESSORIES FOR LESS THAN A YEAR. THE QUALITY OF THE PRINT IS AS GOOD AS ANY I'VE SEEN BOTH FOR TEXT AND PHOTOS. IT'S SO MUCH MORE HANDY TO PRINT MY PICTURES RIGHT HERE AT HOME RATHER THAN WAIT IN LINE AT WALGREENS. EXCELLENT PURCHASE TO MY MIND.
So far, So Good November 2, 2008 I've had this for a week (bought for $300). I haven't really put it through its paces but here's what I think so far:
Scanner - I like the slide and 35mm function. (Scanned some of my dad's old army slides that he hasn't seen in 50 years.)
Printer - seems to do a nice job
Wireless - works, although it's going to be a pain to have to carry it out to my computer every time I want to use the LightScribe function.
Software - A little buggy like others have said. It even made MS Word crash (the crash diagnosis reported this and said HP is "working on a solution")
Photos - look good
My Opinion:
I think you have to decide what fuctions you want on a printer. I was willing to give up auto-feed, 2-sided documents, and fax for the photographic elements. Overall, it seems pretty cool though, and I hope it works out for me.
One problem: When I unboxed the product, the printer would not recognize the ink cartidges, and I had to spend an hour online with HP Support to correct the problem.
HP All-In-1 Printer C8180 November 2, 2008 This is a great home Printer. Makes photo copies of look just like from Wal-Mart or any other professionals. It prints very fast. Luv the screen setup & the easy setup of changing out the ink. It cleans itself when it does a lot of prints. If you own more than one computer and laptop in different rooms or elsewhere, the networking is great. I have not had problems printing from different locations, but know with the wireless setup, you dont get to use all your features, so I know have my hook to my system so I can use all the cool features. This was a good investment for me being I love to scrap book and print many pictues. Now, just to let you know I own the Epson R200 as well and it printed the pictures the same with the same paper quality type, setting. When you use the correct paper the job, your color printer can product great quality pictures. U read about these jam up, but if you use thin cheap paper, it curls up and causes a jam. So check your paper weight. We dont hard earned money to buy a good printer to run out and buy cheap paper. I am very happy that I didn't take the advice of reading all the bad news, but maybe they can make a better printer or just look for the bad in things. All of us can not afford to put a $2000.00 in our home office, and they get jam ups and the ink is not cheap for the color ink.
