 stylish volumizing curls for every day wear December 4, 2008
These curlers are just awesome! Although the box says it only takes 2 minutes to warm up I like to let it warm up for about 10 (I flip on the switch as soon as I wake up). The curlers will get hot but I find if you roll them quickly they don't singe your fingers. I read other reviews who complained about the rollers being too hot against the skin and to avoid that I just put a few pieces of toilet paper underneath and it doesn't hurt my ears, scalp or neck.
It takes me about 5 minutes to put the curlers in my hair and I leave them in for 10 minutes while I dress, eat breakfast ..whatever else I need to do. If I really want to set them I blast them with a shot of hot followed with cold from my hair dryer before unrolling them. The initial crimp from the clip is not noticable and calms down quickly.
My hair looks amazing for the rest of the day (provided it's not humid). It has a ton of bounce, volume and a soft wave that frames my face and really makes my layers stand out. I normally can even get away have it still look "done" the next day after wearing it for a full day and sleeping on it.
My hair is thin and it isn't damaged by these curlers. Plus I am constantly complimented on my hair and find that these fit in really well with a low maintenance routine.
Using a curling iron takes me a hour if I'm lucky and keeps me attached to the sink. This takes less than 10 minutes of effort on my part and gives me a fabulous every day look.

I have hair that is down a little past my shoulders, and is of average thickness. I bought these rollers looking for curlers that would give me softer, larger curls than I get with my hot sticks (those end up very tight and spiral-y!). Weeell, these didn't give me a curl at all! All they did was make the very ends of my hair a little wavy, and didn't do a thing to the top of my hair! It was as straight as ever!
At first, I thought maybe I had put too much hair on each curler, so I tried just curling HALF of my hair with all 12 rollers, but got the same result: No curls, just a tiny bit of body at the ends of my hair. I even left them in for 20 minutes instead of the recommended 10 minutes. I know I let them heat up long enough, too, because a few rollers burned my neck.
This is the worst hair-curling product I have ever come across! Even my grandmother's foam rollers (that have no heat) work better than these things! Don't waste your money!!!!

These heat up quickly and do a good job curling hair. They don't burn your fingers when you hold them. My only complaint is the clip that is used to hold the curler in place. I have had two clips break already. They are fairly easy to fix but I wish they were more sturdy. All in all though I am very pleased with this product.

I bought this product and have it delivered all the way to Singapore. I have been using Remington's heated rollers and I love them, but I have been wanting to have bigger rollers to create Victoria Secret models' big, beautiful waves. So I was really excited when I found them. Unfortunately, after the first time, the side of the rollers which was made up of the silver velvety material started to burn! I noticed it when it produced a smell and smoke! The rollers are in danger of overheating without any homeostatic control mechanism unlike the Remington's heat rollers I've been using. Once, the heated rollers were so hot it almost burnt my scalp. While I like the jumbo-sized curlers so much, it's a real disappointment it's so dangerous to use it.

I purchased the set of hot rollers hoping to find an easier/quicker way than a curling iron to smooth out my naturally curly hair and add back some curl after blow drying it with a round brush.
As a newbie to hot rollers, I didn't find it too hard to put the rollers in, but I was sure stymied by that clip! No way of putting it in seemed to be all that effective at holding the roller in place! Another reviewer shared a link to a video on putting in the rollers that helped on that score, though the clips are still pretty bad at holding them firmly in place.
The rollers seemed to reach temperature quickly(if the little indicator dot on the one roller is accurate). My complaint is that the rollers really do not retain enough heat to penetrate my thick hair all the way to the roots. The rollers were cool and the outsides of the sections of hair never got more than warm. This means the rollers weren't totally effective at smoothing frizz and imparting body.
