works great with Nikon D80 November 23, 2008 Was a bit apprehensive about trying this initially as Nikon recommends cards only up to 4GB, but it works great with my Nikon D80.
I get total of 655 RAW images or 579 RAW+basic jpeg. This card is more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for. Reliability it offers well justifies the price difference. Also, it's fast, and no issues with continuous exposure/burst writes - great performance.
discontinued, do not buy November 6, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The combination of the SDHC and the MicroMate Reader has been discontinued by Sandisk. I had the same experience as the other one star rater. J&R knew it, but I can't believe they still sell it at Amazon. If you ordered it, you would only receive the 8Gb SDHC card. When I emailed J&R, this was what they replied:
"The only thing that is supposed to be included with your order is the memory card. This item does not include the MicroMate reader. There are different items that include the MicroMate reader. However, the prices vary. With Amazon order's we are unable to make any changes to the order, and we are only allowed to exchange for something of the exact price. If you want to exchange for something of a higher price we would need a form of payment."
You have to pay shipping for return, and you are not suppose to open the box. In my case, I opened the box and then realized there was no reader. I ended up negotiating with them and got $5 refund. Very deceiptive seller. Don't understand why Amazon wants to have anything to do with them.
If you really want a SDHC card and a reader, buy them separately.
DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT November 3, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This product is misrepresented on Amazon's website. I have spent hours on the phone with both J&R Computer World and SanDisk (the manufacturer). Apparently, they no longer sell the SDHC card packaged with the reader... which is the only reason why I bought this product in the first place. J&R blamed the issue on SanDisk... SanDisk blamed it on J&R and Amazon... none of the customer service people were helpful and they want me to pay to ship it back.
Fantastic Card November 3, 2008 Well dummy me just went out and got a 4 gig card for my new camera didn't know there were speeds I was having trouble taking pictures fast well this solved the problem with the slow respose time
Great Card & Reader September 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This card works great with my Nikon Coolpix P80 camera. The reader works fine with my older iMac computer that I use with PhotoShop. It only has USB type 1 connections, but still works fine. I take all photos with 10MP resolution and the card is fast and works great. It also holds about 12 more photos than my 8GB class 6 SDHC Transcend card. The only downside: It takes a while to copy all of the high-res photos from the card to the computer. (It's well worth it.) Excellent product.
