A snap to install - literally and figuratively! December 2, 2008 I purchased this memory upgrage - 1GB to 4GB - as much because it was so cheap to do, as it was something I actually needed. $35 after a rebate from using my Amazon Visa credit card for other things. It was almost too easy and too quick to install and get up and running. And my Gateway laptop with Vista Home Premium is almost too fast to be believed. I have my 5-yr old Dell Celeron with a max-ed out 512MB running XP to compare to yet, so I know from wence I speak. I wish I could upgrade the Dell to the 1GB I removed from the Gateway, but of course DDR and DDR2 have different socket configurations, and the first 256MB are hard-wired in the Dell so there's no upgrades past the 512MB. If only the Gateway could take more mem chips, I would have bought more of the Kingston RAMs!!
Very good RAM December 1, 2008 Works perfectly on my HP after the Vista SP update. To see the whole 4 GB.
Works fine in Toshiba Satellite November 9, 2008 Replaced the OEM chips in my Toshiba Satellite P205D with this kit and the laptop is working fine. Ran a memory test for over an hour with no errors.
Works great with Vista 32bit OS November 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Always great when you buy something and it works as advertised. This Kingston memory was super easy to install. Upgrading to 4GB from the 2GB that came in my Sony VGN-SZ660N laptop, to my surprise, it actually boots much faster now. Overall, I am very happy and highly recommend if you are looking to max out your systems memory. All I needed was a small screw driver to remove the memory cover on my laptop. Took less than 5 minutes.
Some of the reviews I've seen complained that when they upgraded their systems to 4GB, only 3GB was recognized by Windows Vista when they had 32 bit version. I just wanted to let everyone know that on my machine with Vista Business 32 bit, the full 4GB is recognized and all works great.
Cheers!
It works good. October 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The first memory didn't work at all on my Macbook blak. I returned the broken one and got a replacements. The second memory works fine and my Macbook pro recognized 4 MB when restarted. The return process is really easy and I received the replacement withing a week.
