Needed Replacement September 6, 2010 1 MadGreek (Chino Hills, CA) Lost my original strap, & if you want a heart reading you need this monitor. A little pricey but its the origina
Garmin heart rate monitor strap (replacement) May 13, 2010 S. Wapner (Maui, HI) This strap was purchased for the forerunner 305. I use it in outrigger canoe racing, it gets wet. The first one lasted a little over one year. I replaced the battery but it still didn't work. I have and would recommend upgrading to the 310XT if you are going to be in wet locations as it is waterproof. The strap on the 310XT snaps to the monitor in two locations and can come off if your chest rubs against something; I have already lost one.
Garmin HR strap May 5, 2010 S. Wright (Livermore, CA) I bought this to pair with a new Garmin Edge 500 for cycling use. This was much cheaper than buying the Edge Bundle as I did not also want cadence. The strap works great with the Edge but installation was a little tricky. The Edge has to be "paired" with the HR strap but I was able to figure it out.
Garmin Hart rate monitor April 14, 2010 Stacy Godo Works great out of the box, just like original one that came with my 305
Comfortable and accurate with my Edge 500 April 9, 2010 Just a guy (Westchester, NY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great HR monitor and it paired easily (didn't have to do anything) with my Edge 500. It seems accurate and doesn't have any of the wild spikes I saw with my much older Polar HR monitor.
Most importantly, it is comfortable and doesnt leave any marks once adjusted correctly.
I reduced by one star because the strap is fairly short. I am not overweight (size 40 jacket) and I had to make the strap within 2" of its max for this to fit comfortably. Larger folks might have an issue.
Although the strap is very elastic, if it is stretched too tight it will leave marks and hurt.
