I have purchased square trade for many electronics. The price was always very reasonable compared to all those store warranties and a couple other online ones too. Their service is top notch and it's easy to get info via phone. They cover products on ebay and some other sites as well as retailers like Best Buy, Office max etc. The big difference other than the low price is when you actually have to file a claim - it's quick, no hassles or fine print and in a few days you have your $ back. I bought Square Trade Warranties on some ipods and other electronics I purchased online. After time one failed. Being my first time to file a claim I called for help and they helped me out quickly. I printed out the shipping label and sent the item off and within a few business days the money was back in my paypal. I recently had to send a camcorder in and within 3 days of sending it in the money was back in my paypal. Finally a great warranty that is truly what it should be- easy to use and reliable.

I purchased a brand new digital camera from ebay a little over a year ago. One day the camera worked perfect and the following weekend it just wouldnt work. It had not been dropped or damaged or anything just up and stopped working. Thank goodness I purchased a warrenty through Squaretrade. At first I was like nah I dont need to purchase a warrenty but something said hey for the extra $8.00 just go for it, and I am so glad I did. The regular manufacturer warrenty runs out after a year and here it was a month after that year and the camera no longer works. For that extra $8, Squaretrade gave me a 3 yr warrenty and it was hassle free. They paid for the shipping, they were in touch with me via email letting me know what was going on, and they were quick. If they can fix your item they do, if not you get back what you paid in full and returning the money was very quick, it was all done in about a weeks time. I would highly recommend them and you can believe I will use them again with any electronic item I purchase.

I have just purchased my second warranty with Square Trade. The first warranty was very very reasonably priced for a new Lumix dmc-zr1 camera. I did have to file a claim and it was painless. Great customer service.

Don't believe everything they publish! It seems there are always caveats to every situation. I made an online claim which was approved for refund and when I pointed out that they had offered a refund for the wrong camera they then said I would have to wait until a box and shipping label was sent and the camera would then be repaired. That took a week, so much for the '5 day policy'. I returned the camera in the box provided and after three phone calls was able to determine they had received it a week later, two weeks so far! After four more telephone calls I found out they were going to repair it not refund as originally stated. The expected repair time five to ten business days. When I go online to check on status they say no information is available to please call. I "may" get a "refurbished"(contrary to what they say) camera back some time in the future but who knows? They may decide that despite the so called drop and slip rider that the damage doesn't qualify and they will then return the damaged camera at my expense. In any event the 5 day guarantee has turned into a five week guarantee.
Buyer Beware!! You may think you are protected but consider hiring a lawyer when you submit your claim. If your item costs less than $250 it's probably a good deal and you will get your money back, but more than that save your money and be cautious with your item, even if they repair it who knows how well qualified they are on specialized electronic components and how good a job they will due. Oh! don't forget that once you get it back your warranty is over.

Works just as explained and cheap!! Damaged my camera, sent it back, had my money in my Paypal account within 5 days! I am definitely using them for every other electronic item I buy. There prices make it worth buying, Best Buy and other stores charge so much for the same warranty.
