I've had the Kindle about a month now (early Christmas present) and love this product. I like the ease of shopping for books and it does download very quickly. I like that it keeps your place when you shut it off or put it to sleep (love the wallpaper!). I don't give it 5 stars cause there's always improvements to be made. The page turning buttons could be a little shorter so you won't feel that you're going to always accidentally press them; but it doesn't take long for you to get comfortable holding it. This really is a great product for the avid book reader. Very cost effective when it comes to the purchase of the books.

I love the Kindle! This makes reading any book so much easier. I like the fact you can change the font easily. I also find it much easier to hold than a traditional book. I find myself reading more than ever now that I have the Kindle. Good job, Amazon....
Great product overall, with some shortcomings December 2, 2008
I think the Kindle is a great idea! I like that I can have multiple books and only take up a small amount of space. I like that it's completely portable and it takes mere seconds to download an entire book. I wish it was in color because I think it would be awesome for field guides. I also wish it had the option of a backlight feature. I know that drains the battery faster, but would be great when the attachable light just isn't handy. The only other complaint I have is the location of the buttons. It gives you very little space to actually hold the device without accidentally advancing pages. Otherwise, I think this is a great product idea and I can't wait for this product to catch on and become cheaper to use and give us more options for downloads. It is well on it's way!

I have had my Kindle 3 weeks now and I totally love it! It is everything I hoped for. I initially saw it on Oprah and though I do usually like her suggestions, I did a lot of homework before purchasing it. I'm sure glad that I did. Love the feature of being able to preview a book before purchasing and also the ability to access the dictionary mid-reading to look up a meaning. Enjoyed the 2-week free trial of the New York Times also. The only change I would make would be to put the on/off button on the front instead of the back because sometimes I inadvertently press "next page" when I am taking it out of the cover to turn off. Other than that - I'm happy!

I bought this for my entire family. What a wonderful product. From the moment I opened the box it was up and running. I downloaded a book without reading anything. My 16 year old daughter is even reading books on it! I love the sample feature of taking a look at a book before buying it. We use the font feature all the time. Everyone has their own preference. It is great for students because of the dictionary look up feature, highlighting text and note feature. I love its green aspect. No more cutting down trees. My only recommendation is a light fixture. This is a must have product.
