I received my Kindle as a birthday gift from my husband a month ago. I have been reading reviews since its launch and admittedly was still on the fence. I'm an avid reader and I love everything about reading including the smell of a book as well as the touch of the pages. Would I miss these with an electronic reader? The answer is no! I love the Kindle! It's my first experience with an electronic reader so I have nothing to compare. I think it's perfect. I take a book everywhere and love to read outside. I can see the screen perfectly and I don't have to fight pages blowing in the wind. I love the adjustable font sizes. If I forget my glasses I just change the size. I have subscribed to a magazine and have already read several books. I'm amazed at the speed they are delivered and so far every book I've looked for is available. Except Harry Potter! I know several reviews complain about the page buttons but I love their location and once you are conscious of their location they are not a nuisance.
Battery life.... I've charged twice in a month and I read every day!
I use the dictionary a lot more than I thought I would. I'm a member of several book clubs and love the notes and highlight feature. I'm able to contribute to discussions with ease.
I love my Kindle so much my daughter is getting one for Christmas!

I was really hesitant about buying a Kindle and wanted to see one. I found I was reading reviews daily and decided to bite the bullet. I am chemically sensitive and am unable to read a newspaper because of the formaldehyde. It is a wonderful feeling to come downstairs in the morning, pour my coffee and turn on my Kindle. I now enjoy my daily paper and I don't even have to go outside to get it. I can honestly say that this is one of the best purchases that I have made. The support team is wonderful and only a quick phone call away. I love my Kindle and only wish that I had bought one sooner.

Kindle is wonderful. However, before buying, make sure you live where the Whispernet works. Huge parts of the US are Whisper-free zones. I need to wait until I drive through a served area. The published maps are only estimates of the true area. Some are twenty to thirty miles off. This mostly relates to Blogs that are updated daily... because I can wait for books or get to an internet connection, from time to time.
AS for the device-it is grrrrreat and the savings for a committed reader are substantial. I showed it at the recent family Turkeyday gathering and think a couple of them will buy.

I really like the Kindle. It's pretty easy to handle and read and I don't find the touch bars for the next page to be a problem as some have said. The only issues I have with it are that it doesn't have a light for night reading as a part of the actual Kindle, and that if you are in the store shopping, there seems to be no way to go back to where you left off if you switch to something else. If there are 10000 books in a category that you're looking thru and you get thru 2000 of them, next time you go to that category again you have to start all over. Other than that I think it's a great product and I enjoy using it. I really like the fact that you can download the samples and they stay there until you get rid of them, so you can put as many on as you like and go back to them whenever you want to see if you want to purchase the book.
